Calendar, Gantt
and chat
in one app.

manseru brings together three things you usually open in three places: your daily calendar, a Gantt chart for projects and a place to message people. Kaito, an AI assistant, fits your tasks into the time you set aside. Matte black, plain as pottery.

The web app runs in your browser today. The iPhone app is coming to the App Store.

Try it: tap a task to select it, tap “+1” to spread overlapping tasks, switch tabs below, open Messages → Kaito. Settings → Light shows the milk-white theme.

How it works

Block the time first. Tasks go in after.

Timeboxing, built in: the time slot comes first, tasks are fitted into it, and the real time is logged so you can compare.

  1. 01

    Set time aside

Draw timeboxes on the calendar: Focus, Gym, Reading… A timebox is a sunken groove with a “+”, so you can see it is still free. Day templates create whole series of timeboxes on the weekdays you pick.

  2. 02

    Fit tasks in

Tap “+” on a timebox to pick a task, or tell Kaito: “Put my tasks into free timeboxes tomorrow”. Kaito shows a preview; nothing is saved until you confirm.

  3. 03

    Check in as you work

Starting a task records actual time. Starting another one stops the running task. Plan and actual sit on top of each other on the calendar and in the Gantt.

Features

Calendar, Gantt chart and messages rolled into one.

Every task is a glazed tile on your calendar, with sub-tasks, a plan, actual time and comments. The same task shows in Calendar, Timeline and Tasks, in its category colour.

  • Timeboxes to hold time

Slots reserved for a kind of work. A sunken “+ name” groove on the calendar with the hour lines running through. Tap to fit a task, or let Kaito do it.

  • Task trees, any depth

Parent, child, grandchild… A sub-task can be a checklist or a milestone. Filter, sort and group by category, company, person or status; important and urgent are detected for you.

  • Plan and actual

A plan can be split into sessions on different days. Actual time is your check-ins and check-outs. Toggle each layer on the calendar and drag to fix actual times.

  • A Gantt that follows your finger

Zoom from hours to months, drag to move, drag either end to change dates. Move a parent and its whole tree follows; dependent tasks shift down the chain.

  • Edit right on the calendar

Tap to select, drag the top or bottom handle to change times, tap an empty slot to create and type the name in place. Multi-select to move or delete a group, timeboxes included.

  • Work with other people

Comments on tasks (replies, links, photos, files), direct messages, send a task in a message, share a category or your whole calendar with view or edit rights.

  • Kaito, your scheduling assistant

Say it plainly: “Fit three 1-hour gym sessions this week, avoid meetings”. Kaito finds free time, reminds you 10 minutes before a task and sends a summary at 8 a.m.

  • iPhone and web

Use it now at manseru.com and add it to your home screen to run full screen like an app. On a computer, the tab bar becomes a sidebar.

Calendar

Overlapping tasks are never squeezed.

The calendar sits in a sunken tray with the hours outside it. Tasks are raised tiles in their category colour; overlapping tasks keep their full width and stack, and a fully hidden one shows a “+N” badge. Tap the overlap and that day spreads out into lanes.

  • Day, 3 days, Week, Month, List; pinch or use the zoom buttons to resize the hour grid.
  • Filter panel: show or hide Timebox, Plan and Actual; pick a layer to edit and only that layer takes touches.
  • Drag and drop snaps to 5, 15 or 30 minutes and to the edges of other tasks; drag near the edge and the calendar scrolls.

Timeline

A whole project on one time axis.

The Timeline tab draws your task tree as a Gantt chart: names on the left, plan and actual bars on the right, arrows from each task to the one that waits on it. The example is a sample project: a product launch split into phases, each video a few steps in a row.

  • Four levels: Hour, Day, Week, Month; zoomed out, sessions merge into one cell per day.
  • Tap a bar for details, tap again to open the task; hold and drag to move it.
  • Tasks created straight on the Calendar show in the Gantt too, under their category.
  • Seven sort orders, drag row names to order by hand, hide the name column when you need room.

Tasks

Every task in one place, as a tree.

Type a line and it is a task. Open a parent to see its children, with progress on the right. The task you are working on sits at the top with Stop and Done.

  • Tree view, or a flat list with the parent path.
  • Filter by status, category, company, people involved, daily routines.
  • Long-press a task: start, stop, add a sub-task, duplicate the whole tree (Video 1 → Video 2…), delete.
  • Reality mode: creating a task starts it right away.

Kaito & Messages

Ask Kaito. Message real people.

Kaito is pinned at the top of Messages. It reads your calendar, tasks and timeboxes, so every answer is a concrete action card: small changes like adding a few workouts happen right away with an Undo button; big ones like planning a whole month show a preview to Confirm or Cancel. Below are your chats with other manseru users.

  • Apply a day template to a whole month, fit workouts around meetings, fill empty timeboxes.
  • Paste a spreadsheet link for Kaito to read and turn into tasks.
  • Message people by email, send tasks and files up to 10 MB; get notified about new comments and messages.

FAQ

Questions people ask.

How is manseru different from a regular calendar?

A regular calendar keeps events. manseru keeps the work too: task trees, plan and actual time, a Gantt chart, comments and messages, plus an assistant that fits tasks into the time you set aside. You can still sync with the calendar on your phone and the online calendar you use.

What is a timebox?

A slot you reserve in advance for one kind of work, for example “Focus 8:30–12:00”. On the calendar it is a sunken groove with a “+”. Tap it to fit a task in, or let Kaito do it. Day templates repeat timeboxes on the weekdays you choose.

What is the difference between plan and actual?

The plan is when you intend to work, split into sessions on different days if you like. Actual is when you really worked, logged by checking in and out. Both layers show together on the calendar and the Gantt, so you can see if you are early or late.

Is there an iPhone app?

The iPhone app is coming to the App Store. Meanwhile, open manseru.com in Safari and use Share → Add to Home Screen. Push notifications while the app is closed are not available yet; in-app notifications work.

What can Kaito see?

When you message Kaito, your message and the parts of your calendar, tasks and timeboxes it needs are sent to an AI model, and only after you agree to the use of AI. Small changes happen right away and can always be undone; bigger ones ask you first. Kaito can be wrong.

How do I delete my account?
